1. Information We Collect

When you use MagicConvert, we may collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Email, name, and profile picture when you create an account or sign in via a third-party provider.
  • OAuth Data: When you sign in with Google, Facebook, or GitHub, we receive your public profile information (name, email, and profile picture) from the provider. We do not receive or store your password from any OAuth provider.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, conversion types used, and interaction patterns.
  • Uploaded Files: Files you upload for conversion. These are temporarily stored and automatically deleted.
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and IP address.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve our file conversion services
  • To process your conversions and deliver results
  • To authenticate your identity via email/password or OAuth providers
  • To communicate service updates and respond to inquiries
  • To prevent fraud and ensure platform security
  • To serve relevant advertisements (free tier)

3. Third-Party Authentication (OAuth)

MagicConvert allows you to sign in using your existing accounts with the following providers:

  • Google Sign-In: We receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Facebook Login: We receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Facebook. Governed by Meta's Privacy Policy.
  • GitHub Login: We receive your name, email address, and avatar from GitHub. Governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement.

We only request the minimum permissions needed (email and basic profile). We do not post on your behalf, access your contacts, or request any write permissions. You can revoke MagicConvert's access at any time through each provider's account settings.

3. File Handling & Privacy

Your uploaded files are our top priority for security:

  • All files are encrypted during transfer (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
  • Files are automatically deleted after 2 hours (24 hours for premium users)
  • We never access, read, or share your file contents
  • All uploads are scanned for viruses using ClamAV
  • Processing happens on isolated servers with no persistent storage

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies for functionality and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand usage patterns. You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google (OAuth sign-in, AdSense advertising on free tier, Analytics)
  • Facebook / Meta (OAuth sign-in)
  • GitHub (OAuth sign-in)
  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Google Cloud Storage (temporary file storage)

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Uploaded files are deleted within 2-24 hours. You can request complete data deletion at any time.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request data correction or deletion
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Withdraw consent at any time

8. Account & OAuth Data Deletion

You can delete your MagicConvert account at any time from your dashboard settings. When you delete your account:

  • All personal data and conversion history are permanently removed
  • OAuth provider links (Google, Facebook, GitHub) are disconnected
  • Any remaining uploaded files are immediately deleted
